About The Mermaid Cafe
Follow the signs to the Mermaid cafe!
Nestled quietly on the shores of beautiful Lake Caroline with Jimmy Buffet or perhaps a little Van Morrison softly swirling through the air, she beckons to everyone who passes by. Jackson native, Nick Apostle, with over 25 successful years on the local restaurant scene with “Nick’s,” has opened this very casual little waterfront fish house.
The long and lazy gallery porch at “the Mermaid” sets the stage for a spectacular sunset view of the lake while sipping an icy margarita, a cool crisp chardonnay or a frosty glass of ale. Just inside, you’ll find rich pecan floors and soft hues that simply say, “relax and just enjoy the moment.”
At the bar, you can watch your favorite team over a cold beer and a plate of tamales or thin-fried catfish. The setting is also perfect for a family to gather over “the Mermaid’s” simple and unassuming menu (with equally unassuming prices!) So let yourself be lured. Whatever the occasion, we invite you to be seduced by the enchanting songs, friendly voices and fabulous fare of our own little “siren” in Madison County on the shores of Lake Caroline.
